Cathedral Rock
For a truly memorable and iconic sunset experience, be ready to climb up a short but steep hike to Cathedral Rock. This is an 8-minute drive from our location. Beginner hikers may get intimidated going uphill - it gets a little bit technical.
Pro Tips:
If you time it right around 5 PM - 5:15 PM, you may have a chance of catching a parking spot at the trailhead. The road to the trailhead is typically blocked on weekends and holiday weeks, between 7 AM - 5 PM, to keep it clear for residents.
Sedona local shuttle: you can opt for this to avoid having to drive and park, though it might be a slower option. Check out their routes and schedule here: https://sedonashuttle.com/
Bring a headlamp! If you're going to watch the sunset, it may get pretty dark before you've hiked your way out of the trail.

This hike is a 5-minute drive from our location. It's a short hike that offers breathtaking views of the surrounding Red Rock landscape and the flowing Oak Creek. At the peak of the trail. just above the caves, you'll find lovely viewpoints where you can sit down and take it all in.
Pro Tip:
As you get closer to end of the trail, keep your eyes peeled on a trail on the right-hand side for an easier walk around to the caves, instead of scrambling/climbing directly down to it.
